Store description excerpt

*NOTE: This is a new version of the PLT app. The old version will remain listed in the meantime but will be removed soon. The Point Load Test Application was designed to be used in conjunction with a GCTS PLT-2W. This application allows the user to easily perform tests and record data by connecting to a PLT device via Bluetooth. The device will output load and displacement from a pair of sensors, which will be read by the app and used to calculate point load test results. The app allows two-step calibrations of these readings, and also can obtain pre-loaded calibration factors from within the PLT-2W. Using this application, specimen measurements can be made with ease. By simply placing the specimen in the apparatus as shown in the application and applying a small load, the application will automatically calculate the dimension of the specimen in that axis. This app can be used with diametral, axial, or irregular specimens. In addition, the application can be set to reuse certain dimensions, so if a core sample is used, the application can be set to use the same diameter for each specimen tested. The operator can also define a custom equation for determination of the unconfined compressive strength from the point load strength index as calculated by the test. The application will automatically graph the load versus equivalent core diameter and automatically calculate the unconfined compressive strength for the rock specimen. This app also allows the measurement of Ultrasonic P-Wave Velocities when paired with a ULT-2 or ULT-200.
