There is a ring of pure gold, and it is where nerve gets tested. The rules take a second to learn, but staying in rhythm once the ring truly picks up speed — that takes character. Your instrument is a four-armed star, and it has two very different jobs. The first job is the race, Orbit Run. The star flies around the ring without ever stopping, and all you have is a single tap that flips it between the outer and inner track. Blue sparks are scattered across both, and so are the scarlet traps — the further you go, the more often they sit exactly where you meant to slip through. Every spark taken without a scratch feeds your streak, and the streak multiplies the score — until one careless touch burns it down along with a life. The second job is the defense, Gate Guard. Now the star stands at the center and the ring turns against you: colored shards fly toward the heart through four gates. The star has four arms — green, scarlet, gold and blue — and a shard can only be taken by the arm of its own color. Spin the star left and right, pick the shortest turn and be there for every gate: on the later levels the shards come three at a time, and you have to think two moves ahead. There are eighteen trials: ten laps of the race, from First Loop to Orbit Master, and eight shifts of the defense, from Two Colours to Gatekeeper. Each one opens only after a win in the one before, and each meets you faster, denser and stricter — the last ones leave you just two lives. Clear a level without a single mistake and the score multiplies. Twelve seals such as Untouched and Gatekeeper mark the real feats, the log keeps your last twenty runs, and next to the pilot's name grow your record and the count of every spark caught and every shard taken. The gold of the ring, the soft glow and the light response under your fingers pull you into one more run — this time surely without a scratch. The ring is already gathering speed. Take your place on the orbit, and let's see how long your streak can grow.
