Store description excerpt
Point your camera at a plant and find out what it is — without an account, without a subscription, and without an internet connection. PlantID identifies 2,101 plant, tree and flower species entirely on your phone. The model runs on the device itself, so identification works on a mountain, on a plane, or anywhere with no signal at all. Your photos never leave your phone. ONE ANSWER, NOT THREE GUESSES Most plant identifiers hand you a list and let you decide. PlantID names the species it is confident about, and keeps the alternatives one tap away if you want them. IT TELLS YOU WHEN IT DOESN'T KNOW If the photo isn't clear enough, PlantID says so and suggests how to retake it, instead of inventing a confident-sounding answer — which most identifiers won't do. COMMON NAMES, NOT JUST LATIN Buttercup, not only Ranunculus. Common names come from Wikidata and are shown in your language wherever one exists, with the scientific name underneath. BROWSE THE FULL SPECIES DIRECTORY Every species the app can recognise is browsable and searchable, sorted by the name you actually read, with a reference link for each one. Search matches the common name or the scientific one, so "oak" and "Quercus" both work. Two directories: plants and trees, and flowers. WHAT YOU GET • Plant identification, offline, on-device • Tree and flower identification • 2,101 species • A searchable species directory • Common names in English, Spanish and French where available • Photo editing before identification: crop, rotate, share • Full dark mode • No account. No sign-up. No subscription. No free trial that quietly starts billing. HOW IT IS PAID FOR PlantID is ad-supported. If you'd rather not see ads, there is a single one-time in-app purchase to remove them — no subscription, and nothing recurring. HOW TO GET THE BEST RESULT Fill the frame with one plant. A single flower, leaf or bloom against a plain background works far better than a whole garden. Crop the photo in the app before identifying if there is more than one plant in the shot. A NOTE ON ACCURACY No plant identifier is right every time, and any app that implies otherwise is overselling. PlantID is strongest on flowers and on common species. When it isn't sure, it will tell you rather than guess — and you can tell us when it gets one wrong, which helps us find where it struggles. Plant identifier, plant ID, tree identification, flower identification, leaf identification, offline plant finder, plant recognition, garden and wildflower guide.
