Store description excerpt

Pikapara trains visual memory and mental arithmetic by showing things for a single moment. ■ Two ways to play ▶ Flash Pictures (10 levels) Pictures appear one at a time and vanish. Put them back in the order they came. It starts at two pictures at 1.2 seconds each and ends at ten pictures at 0.25 seconds. At the highest level every picture comes from the same category, so a vague impression is no longer enough. ▶ Flash Math (20 levels) Numbers stream past. Add them all and type the total. It starts at three numbers at 1.6 seconds each and ends at fifteen three-digit numbers at 0.25 seconds. One digit leads to two, then three, and subtraction joins in along the way. ■ Thirty levels, from preschool to adult Choose who is playing and the app starts at a level that fits. Get 80% of a set right and you move up. That is the only rule for advancing, so it is easy to explain to a child. ■ Hiragana, kanji, or English For children who cannot read kanji yet, the whole app can be shown in hiragana. English is fully supported. ■ For parents ・No advertising of any kind ・Practice needs no network — it works in airplane mode ・No account to create ・No personal information is collected ・No analytics or tracking tools are included Records are stored only on the device. The Learning Report shows how the week went. Exporting, importing or deleting records — and anything leading to a payment — sits behind a check meant for an adult (a two-digit by one-digit multiplication). Sound and vibration can be turned off separately, and the play screen can be dark or light. ■ Pikapara Pro (one-time purchase) Free forever ・Flash Pictures levels 1–4 ・Flash Math levels 1–10 (all of single-digit addition) With Pro ・Flash Pictures levels 5–10 ・Flash Math levels 11–20 ・Custom settings — choose the number of items and the speed yourself (records are not saved in this mode) One purchase, once. There is no monthly or yearly plan. The free range stays playable, and every record you have made is kept. ■ Who it is for ・Preschool (under 6) ・Grades 1–2 ・Grade 3 and up ・Adults, as brain training ■ In classrooms and care settings There is no account to create and no network to set up, so the app can be picked up and used as it is. Records stay on the device and are never sent anywhere. With Custom settings (part of Pro) you can change the number of items and the speed while saving no records at all — useful when one device is shared between several people. For children who cannot read yet, the whole app can be shown in hiragana, and the thirty levels let people at different stages share the same device. ■ What comes next More pictures are added with each update.
