How is the fun going on in the wayang universe? Install and find the answer. Wayang kulit is a traditional Indonesian art which mainly developed in Java. Wayang comes from the word 'Ma Hyang' which means to a spiritual spirit, god, or God Almighty. There are also those who interpret wayang as a Javanese term which means 'shadow', this is because the audience can also watch the puppet from behind the screen or just its shadow. Wayang kulit is played by a puppeteer who is also the narrator of the dialogue of the puppet characters, accompanied by gamelan music played by a group of nayaga and songs sung by the singer. Ki Anom Suroto is a puppeteer of the Purwa Leather Wayang. He became famous as a puppeteer since around 1975. He learned puppetry since he was 12 years old from his own father, Ki Sadiyun Harjadarsana. Apart from that, he directly and indirectly learned a lot from Ki Nartasabdo and several other senior puppeteers. He had received the name Lebdocarito from the Surakarta Palace, in 1997 he was appointed as Regent of Sepuh with the new name Kanjeng Raden Tumenggung (KRT) Lebdonagoro. He is also active in fostering puppetry by guiding younger puppeteers, both from his region and from other regions. Periodically, he holds a kind of puppet criticism forum in the form of a workshop and puppet show at his home. The Javanese are the largest ethnic group in Indonesia originating from Central Java, East Java, Yogyakarta Special Region, Indramayu Regency (West Java), and Serang-Cilegon Regency / City (Banten).
