Pandemic Watch is an outbreak reference library and bulletin feed for curious readers, travelers, and public-health watchers. It collates verified Disease Outbreak News bulletins from the World Health Organization, WHO situation reports published through ReliefWeb, surveillance data from the U.S. CDC, advisories from PHAC (Public Health Agency of Canada), and outbreak coverage from major newsrooms, then pairs each one with plain-language reference content so you understand what each bulletin actually means. The live feed covers multiple diseases, currently hantavirus and ebola, with new pathogen support added as outbreaks emerge. The app is informational. It is not medical advice, does not replace consultation with a qualified healthcare professional, and does not connect to HealthKit or collect any personal health data. WHAT YOU GET • Calm dashboard showing currently-monitored outbreaks with WHO source badges, case and death counts across active outbreaks, and an explanatory risk-context paragraph for each outbreak. When a health authority has reported higher figures than the latest WHO bulletin, the card shows them beside the WHO number with the source named. Outbreaks WHO has formally declared over move to the archive. No real-time mortality counters, no alarm framing. • Reference library: nine native sections covering Outbreaks 101 (how outbreaks are classified by WHO, how to read a Disease Outbreak News bulletin, transmission patterns, prevention principles), plus a comprehensive guide to hantavirus including symptoms, transmission, strains, prevention, treatment, history, and FAQs. Additional pathogen guides (starting with ebola) ship over the air as the bundled content library expands. Every section is cited to primary sources you can open in Safari. • Bulletin feed: the latest outbreak news from WHO Disease Outbreak News, ReliefWeb, CDC, PHAC, and major newsrooms (CBC, CNN, ABC, CBS), with date stamps and source attribution. Tap any bulletin to read context. • Custom alerts (Pandemic Watch Pro): get a push notification when a new outbreak is reported, or when confirmed cases or deaths cross a threshold you set. Threshold alerts act on the earliest reported figures, so you hear about a number when it is first reported rather than at the next bulletin. Manage rules in-app. • Live outbreak map: the dashboard hero is an interactive world map showing which countries currently have active monitored outbreaks, color-coded by pathogen with great-circle spread arcs between origin and affected countries. Tap to open a fullscreen interactive view and tap a country for details. PANDEMIC WATCH PRO A monthly or annual subscription unlocks custom alert rules and removes display ads.
