Palio Meeting 2026 October 14-16, 2026 – Siena, Italy Vaccines: Healthy Aging Beyond infectiuos Disease Prevention As populations age, preserving health and quality of life in later years has become a major public health priority. A key challenge is immune aging: the progressive decline and remodelling of immune function that not only increases susceptibility to infections, but also contributes to chronic inflammation, reduced resilience, frailty, and a higher risk of non-communicable diseases. The Palio Meeting 2026 will explore the role of vaccines beyond the prevention of specific infectious diseases, focusing on their potential contribution to immune resilience and healthy longevity. The meeting will investigate how vaccination may indirectly influence biological aging by reducing infection-driven inflammation and tissue damage and by supporting immune function throughout life. Bringing together scientists, clinicians, health economists, policymakers, and regulatory experts, the meeting will address the translational, economic, policy, and regulatory implications of this broader perspective. Its objective is to identify actionable strategies to measure, recognise, and communicate the wider value of vaccination, improve vaccine uptake among older adults, and position vaccines as a key intervention for promoting healthier and more resilient aging
