Pale Shore is a calm yet thrilling survival arcade set on a quiet, mist veiled coast where the world has gone soft and grey. You play the last Lantern Keeper, a quiet wanderer who walks the wet sand at dusk to keep the dark tide at bay. The waves bring gifts of driftwood, polished pearls and humming runes, but they also carry restless spirits that drift in from the deep water to put your light out. You guide the Keeper with a thumb stick on the left of the screen and use four crafted abilities on the right. The lantern itself is a weapon, a steady warm circle of light that wears the spirits down whenever they step too close. When the shore grows crowded you can sweep them away with a Lantern Flash, raise a calm Pearl Shield, push the surf back with a Tide Surge, or plant your feet for an Anchor Stomp that slows everything around you. Every wave is a little louder than the last. The shore fills with foam, drifting motes and the faint shapes of new spirits, including swift Gliders that weave around your light and heavy Husks that take a real beating. Score builds, runes double your gains for a moment, and pearls mend the lantern when its glow begins to fade. When you finally fall, the shore remembers. Driftwood you collected is carried back to the Bazaar, where you can spend it on lasting upgrades for your wick, your boots, your shield, your flash, your surge and your beachcomber's eye.
