Pajeú Encantado - Expansion is an adventure and fantasy RPG inspired by the poetry, folk literature, and culture of the Sertão do Pajeú region of Pernambuco. Explore cities and forests, engage in turn-based battles, and meet poets as you progress through the story. In the game, Amanda, Helena, William, and Cícero are four adventurous poets who set out in search of the Floating City. During their journey, they face challenges, battles, and the Monster of Oblivion, a metaphor for the lack of safeguarding and preservation of popular culture. Set in a fictional magical universe, Pajeú Encantado playfully presents elements of oral poetry, cultural memory, and the poetic tradition of Northeast Brazil. Throughout the adventure, the player learns about the history and work of poets from the Sertão do Pajeú region of Pernambuco and surrounding areas. The Floating City represents both the canons of popular poetry and all the people who keep this tradition alive: poets, educators, researchers, students, admirers, and new generations passionate about literature and oral poetry. Game System: In turn-based battles, characters evolve as the story progresses. It is possible to organize the group's order, equip items, and develop strategies to face the different challenges of the adventure. Pajeú Encantado - Expansion brings together the base game Pajeú Encantado (2022-2023) and its expansion (2025-present). The classic game remains fully available, now integrated into an expanded version with new maps, characters, dialogues, challenges, performance improvements, and narrative deepening. The year 2025 marked the public consolidation of the project, with content expansions, educational activities, lectures, launch events, and the use of the game in schools and cultural institutions, strengthening its pedagogical, literary, and cultural impact. Accessibility: The game features audio description, allowing people with visual impairments to follow the story. The content is available on the project's official Instagram: @pajeuencantado. Recognition: In 2025, Jefferson Sousa, the author of this project, received first place, with the highest score (100), in the 10th Ayrton de Almeida Carvalho Award for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage of Pernambuco, promoted by the Government of the State of Pernambuco and Fundarpe, in recognition of the cultural and educational relevance of Pajeú Encantado. Funding: The expansions, updates, educational actions, and circulation activities carried out from 2024 onwards were made possible by the Creative Actions for Audiovisual - Games Grant, under the Paulo Gustavo Law (LPG, 2023), through the Government of the State of Pernambuco. The base game, in its initial phase, received support from the Funcultura Microproject Cultural Grant 2020–2021, from Secult PE/Fundarpe.
