Father Luiz Alberto Kleina was born on May 29, 1966. He studied Philosophy and Social Communication at the Federal University of Paraná and Theology at the Studium Theologicum. Ordained on August 31, 1997, at the São Benedito da Lapa Sanctuary (in the same place where he was parochial vicar for a year), the priest was also treasurer (administrator) of the Mitra of the Archdiocese of Curitiba from 2004 to 2009. Father Kleina is a Meritorious Citizen of Paraná. In 2024 he was awarded the medal of the Municipal Order of Luz dos Pinhais. The tribute is the highest municipal honor and represents the commitment to the development of the capital. He has already received the following awards: Pope John Paul II Award, Pablo Neruda Human Rights Award and Fernando Amaro “Merit” Award. ________________________________________ Sanctuary of São Francisco de Assis – Took office on February 21, 2025. Archdiocese of Curitiba - From 2018 to January 2025 he was an ecclesiastical communications advisor for the Archdiocese of Curitiba. During this time, he promoted the restructuring of the communication sector, created the Archdiocese Communication Council and developed a Communication Plan for the institution, led by professionals with recognized experience and also lay people dedicated to the Pastoral of Communication. Imaculada Conceição Parish - Parish Priest from February 2016 to January 2025, established 18 Pastorals, groups and movements with the community. He implemented the perpetual novena in honor of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. Also the Siege of Jericho. Upon leaving the community, he had instituted seven weekly celebrations. Santuário do Carmo - From the moment he began working as a parish priest, in the then parish of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, he began to dream of transforming the place into a Sanctuary. One of his first actions was the implementation of the perpetual novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Acceptance was immediate and the number of faithful devotees soon increased every Wednesday. This fact meant that in 2001 the parish was elevated to the status of Sanctuary. With the aim of promoting devotion to the Virgin of the Scapular, he endeavored to attract devotees of Our Lady of Mount Carmel to the Sanctuary, maintaining the place as a pilgrimage center and religious reference in the Archdiocese of Curitiba. The reopening of the Sanctuary, which took place in July 2007, was designed by the priest and became possible thanks to the collaboration of the community. This made the Nossa Senhora do Carmo Sanctuary even better known and since then the place has received, every week, faithful from different regions of Curitiba and the Metropolitan Region. Communication – Also in the media, Father Kleina stands out with his mission to evangelize.
