Store description excerpt
Every Observation No. is a unique performance: press play and Pad performs it for you — evolving filter, drifting pitch, breathing swells — the same way, forever. Pad is a generative pad synthesizer built like a piece of late-70s laboratory equipment. You don't play notes. You draw an Observation, set four weather conditions, and the instrument performs: a polyphonic pad that moves on its own, writing its evolution as a violet trace across the panel while you listen. THE OBSERVATION Over four billion Observation Numbers, each a complete, repeatable performance — its own chord, register, timbre, and temperament. Found one you love? It's yours forever: copy the number, share it, type it back in on any device, and the exact same performance returns. Some Observations are bright and open. Some are dark. A few are strange. Drawing a new one always costs nothing. THE CONDITIONS Four knobs shape every performance without changing which performance it is: WIND — how far the sound wanders SQUALL — how restlessly it moves TEMPERATURE — dark to bright COVER — thin to full voicing THE RECORD KEY Press RECORD and listen. Press again and Pad renders exactly what you heard — the same evolution, start to stop, up to three minutes — to a clean stereo WAV you can save and use anywhere: your DAW, your video, your set. BUILT LIKE AN INSTRUMENT A screen-printed panel, weighted knobs with real detents, an amber LED display, and a strip-chart trace that draws the performance as it plays. No menus. No presets to manage. No account. Nothing to configure. It powers on, and it plays. Pad is the fifth instrument from Fecit Audio — small, focused music tools for iOS, each one thing done properly.
