Store description excerpt

Oil Spill Responder Applications (Osrap) is a series of modules dedicated to maritime oil spill response operators, for oil spill preparedness activity as well as during an oil spill incident (Application available in French and English: - (1) Unit converter to easily convert different units (distance, volume, speed etc); - (2) Oil slick trajectory: Using wind and current data, the module allows to easily and rapidly estimate the oil slick drifting speed and direction as well as a possible final location of the oil slick (considering the geographic coordinates of the spill source and a duration of drift simulation can be exported in KMZ format and opened on Google earth or any other Geographic Information System (GIS) or report in pdf file is also available. - (3) Oil Quantification. The Module allows to rapidly evaluate a volume of oil spilled based on data derived from aerial surveillance (Percentages of oil coverage for each Bonn Oil Appearance Codes in estimated surfaces). The module allows to estimate volume of chemical dispersant required to treat the oil slick oil slick. A report in pdf file is available - (4) Dispersant Application: The module allows adjusting speed of vessels and dispersant pump flowrate for a proper Dispersant Oil Ratio (DOR). It also calculates the quantity of oil dispersed and dispersant needed for spraying operations with several vessels.
