Most weather apps show a pollen number. One number, the same for everybody. But nobody is allergic to "pollen". You're allergic to birch, or grass, or mugwort. On a high-birch morning in April, a general pollen index tells you nothing you can act on. Opus Air fixes that. My daughter was suffering badly with hay fever for many years, until one day enough was enough and she got a test. It turns out that Hazel Tree, so I created an app to help her see the good days and bad days and plan accordingly. YOUR ALLERGENS, YOUR SCORE Pick what you actually react to, right down to individual tree species. Opus Air takes today's levels for those species and blends them with temperature, wind and humidity into one Comfort score out of 100. Then it tells you what's dragging it down. "Good to get out. High birch." Now you know whether to take an antihistamine, close the car vents, or just go. Two people standing in the same street get different scores. That's the point. WILL I STAY DRY? A second score reads the next 24 hours at a glance. Where Apple provides minute-by-minute data, Opus Air times your next dry window precisely: rain in 12 minutes, clear for the next hour. And it turns that into a straight answer for what you're actually doing. Run, dog walk, washing on the line, round of golf: Go now, Wait, or Skip. IT TELLS YOU WHEN IT DOESN'T KNOW If a reading is missing, Opus Air says so instead of quietly filling the gap. If a number is an hour old, it says how old. Most apps hide that.
