Store description excerpt

Cloud of Voices is the official app for Open Icon Baptist Church's private online community - the space where our congregation stays connected between Sundays. We're a small, fully online Baptist congregation based in Melbourne, gathered from across Australia, and beyond. We take seriously the call to follow Jesus: not as a set of beliefs to defend, but as a way of generous and resilient love – for God, for the earth, for our neighbours, for the stranger, and for ourselves. Since 2020, we've discovered that carefully cultivated online community can be genuinely life-giving – not a substitute for real church, but a real church in its own right. And for some people, it lowers significant barriers to participation. Cloud of Voices is where that community lives day to day: sharing, conversation, photos, prayer requests, and the ordinary connection that sustains a congregation between times of worship. Think of it like a private social media space, without ads, algorithms, or unaccountable lurkers – just people who already know and trust each other. Our welcome is unequivocal – across age, ethnicity, sexuality, gender identity, ability, and theological perspective. Our worship and prayer (held separately, live online) are unusual for a Baptist church: liturgical, sacramental, contemplative, daily, and deeply participatory. This app is for our regular participants. If you're curious to learn more about who we are, visit openicon.church
