One Tap Phone is a simplified Android telephone interface for people who find a conventional phone app difficult to navigate. It may be helpful for older adults, people living with cognitive impairments, and the caregivers who configure their phones. When an incoming call arrives, the caller’s name is displayed when available. Almost the entire screen becomes one large green Answer button. Touching the green area answers the call immediately. A smaller charcoal-grey Not now button remains available but visually secondary. An optional animated finger and ripple provide an additional visual cue showing where to tap. Calling, answering, and up to four caregiver-selected contacts remain available without a purchase. A caregiver can also choose to start connected calls on speakerphone when no headset is in use, so the phone does not need to be held to the ear. People nearby may hear a speakerphone call. One Tap Phone also offers a 30-day trial of optional features: simplified missed and recent calls, search for saved contacts, and Contacts-only call filtering. After the trial, these features require a one-time lifetime upgrade through Google Play. There is no subscription. Google Play shows the price before purchase; basic calling and saved contacts continue to work without the upgrade. Features include: - Up to four ordered, caregiver-selected contacts for simple outgoing calls - Optional caregiver-enabled search for calling other contacts saved on the phone (trial or upgrade) - Simplified missed and recent call lists with easy Call back buttons, stored only on the device (trial or upgrade) - Optional caregiver-controlled call filtering that sends identifiable callers not saved in Contacts silently to voicemail (trial or upgrade) - Clear connecting, active-call, ended-call, busy, no-answer, and failed-call screens - Optional four-digit PIN protection for caregiver settings - An optional simplified Home-screen mode The Home-screen mode is optional and reversible. It does not lock the device, and a caregiver can restore the previous Home app through Android Settings. To handle ordinary telephone calls, One Tap Phone must be selected as the device’s default Phone app. Android always asks for confirmation before making this change. Contacts permission is used to select and optionally search outgoing contacts and display saved caller names. Notification permission enables incoming and ongoing call controls. Privacy is kept simple: One Tap Phone contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, or user accounts. Contacts, call lists, selected telephone numbers, and caregiver settings remain on the device and are not uploaded by the app. Optional upgrade payments are handled by Google Play; One Tap Phone does not receive payment-card details. One Tap Phone requires Android 10 or later and a device capable of making telephone calls.
