No subscription, no upgrade prompts, no in-app purchases, nothing that expires. Nobody should have to subscribe to tell their family they're fine. NO TRACKING, NO SERVER, NO ACCOUNTS There is no location tracking, no monitoring, and no data collection of any kind. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, because there is nowhere to upload it to. Your mother is being asked to press a button, not to be surveilled. WHAT THIS IS NOT OK Today is a daily comfort ritual between family members. It is not an emergency alert system, not a medical alert device, not fall detection, and not a monitoring service. It cannot summon help. If you need emergency response, buy an emergency response product. (iOS won't let any app send a text silently — which is the right call. The button writes the whole message and slides up a message box with it ready; sending is one more tap. If you'd rather she didn't have that tap either, setup can walk you through putting a one-tap "I'm OK" icon on her Home Screen using Apple's Shortcuts app.)
