Store description excerpt

Most translator apps quietly need a server. Offlingo doesn't have one. Nothing you type ever leaves your iPhone, because there is nowhere for it to go. Download a language pair once and it works with the radio completely off. WHY THERE IS NOTHING TO LEAK Offlingo translates on the device, using the translation engine built into iOS. The app has no networking code of its own. No account to create, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifier, no crash reporter, no third-party SDKs. It asks for no permissions at all. Not the microphone, not the camera, not photos, not contacts, not location. This is not a policy promise you have to take on trust. It is a consequence of how the app is built. The only thing ever downloaded is Apple's language pack, fetched by iOS, and only when you ask for it. BUILT FOR THE MOMENT THE BARS DISAPPEAR Aeroplane mode. A basement in a city you don't know. A train in a tunnel. Roaming left switched off because you have seen the bill. - The passport desk, where the officer repeats the question and your bars have gone. - A pharmacy, explaining what is wrong with you to someone who needs the exact word. - The back of a taxi, at night, with one hand. - A rural guesthouse with a router that has never worked. Offlingo behaves the same in all of them, because it behaves the same everywhere: no round trip, no waiting, no server to be down. There is nothing to lose when the connection goes. Download your language pairs at the airport, not at the border. WHAT IT DOES - Translates live as you type. There is no button to press. - 23 languages: English (US and UK), Spanish (Spain and Mexico), Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Hindi, Arabic, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Russian, Japanese, German, French, Italian, Korean, Turkish, Polish, Dutch, Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese, Ukrainian. - Typed it the wrong way round? It happens to everyone at 6am. Offlingo notices and switches the pair for you. It never alters the text you typed, and one tap of the swap arrows undoes it. - Speaks either side aloud, using the voices already on your phone. - Keeps history on the device, searchable and starrable, so the address you needed on Tuesday is still there on Friday with no signal. Clearing it is instant. TWO EXTRAS ON THE NEWEST IPHONES Rewriting a translation (formal, casual, shorter) and short tutor notes explaining a point of grammar, register or idiom both use Apple Intelligence, so they need an iPhone 15 Pro or newer running iOS 26. On other iPhones these two controls are simply not shown, and translation works exactly as described above. THE PRICE Free. No subscription, no ads, no in-app purchases, no account. There is no server bill to fund, which is exactly why this is possible. Requires iOS 18 or later. Each language pair is downloaded once, over Wi-Fi or mobile data. After that, the radio can stay off.
