Obitix is a funeral transport and chain-of-custody app for funeral homes, removal technicians, and families. It keeps every transfer documented from first call to final delivery, so staff know the next step and families can follow progress with care. Funeral work depends on trust, timing, and a clear record of who had care of the deceased. Obitix replaces paper logs and scattered phone calls with one shared case file on iPhone and iPad. WHO IT IS FOR Funeral home administrators create and assign transports, manage staff, watch live status, and keep documents and notifications in one place. Removal technicians work from the field: accept jobs, scan QR codes, log custody events, capture photos, record voice notes, and share live GPS while a transport is active. Families see status updates and documents when the funeral home makes them available, without calling for every change. TRANSPORT AND CASE MANAGEMENT Create a transport with pickup and destination details, assign a technician, and follow the case from scheduled to in progress, in transit, and completed. The dashboard shows active jobs, completed work, and recent activity. Teams that work with more than one location or organization can switch context without losing the case record. LIVE GPS TRACKING When a technician starts an active transport, Obitix can share GPS so funeral home staff and the family can see the vehicle on a live map. Background location is used only during an active transport. Technicians are often driving with the phone locked or in another app, so tracking continues until pickup or delivery is complete. Location is not used for advertising. When the transport ends, live sharing stops. CHAIN OF CUSTODY Every handoff can be recorded with time, place, and the person responsible. Technicians scan QR codes linked to the decedent and add custody events. Funeral home staff can review a digital log for internal review, family questions, and compliance needs. QR CODES AND FIELD DOCUMENTATION Generate and scan QR codes so the right record opens at the scene. Capture photos at pickup, transfer, and delivery. Add notes or voice logs when typing is not practical. Photos and location can be stored with the event so the file shows what happened and where. FAMILY UPDATES Families should not have to guess. Obitix can show transport progress, notify them when status changes, and let them view documents when the funeral home shares them. The goal is a calm, clear update path during a difficult time. NOTIFICATIONS AND TEAM COORDINATION Push notifications alert technicians to new assignments and status changes. Staff and families can receive updates when a transport starts, moves, or is completed. Emergency alerts can be sent from the field if something goes wrong on the route. DOCUMENTS, REPORTS, AND SETTINGS Keep case documents together, download reports when needed, and manage organization settings such as notifications, branding, and compliance preferences.
