Raw Context Translator helps you recognize, translate, and interpret English text on your Android screen. Translations appear in floating speech bubbles, so they’re readable while you’re using apps, games, and other on-screen content. Automatic offline screen translation - Recognizes visible text using OCR from a user-approved screen share. - Translation is done in-place using a downloaded Google ML Kit language model. - Merges truly related sentences and keeps separate menu items in separate bubbles. - Special protection helps preserve codes, abbreviations, links, and placeholders. - Offline language model can be downloaded when first set up, or deferred for later. AI Context and Web Background Search AI Context mode uses Perplexity web search to uncover app, game, or topic-specific background information for a recognized phrase. It’s not the app’s own AI model. - Choose or create your own app, game, and topic profile. - Profile name, description, alternate titles, technical terms, and specified websites refine your search. - Tap the pulsing translation bubble to open a detailed background explanation. - Select a specific area of the screen with manual AI selection. - The answer can be displayed in Perplexity WebView or read aloud using your device's text-to-speech feature. - The optional speaker button on the bubbles can trigger the background explanation to be read out separately. - When asking a question aloud, the recognized question can be reviewed and edited before searching. - The search and reading in progress can be interrupted by pressing the STOP button on the floating widget. Custom JSON databases and Editor mode - Create, import, select, edit, export, and share your own translation database. - Custom translation, detailed explanation, link, text color, background color, and font size can be saved. - Custom entries can take precedence over the base translation as translation memory. - Bubbles created can be moved by long-tapping and their position can be saved to related text versions. - JSON files and profiles remain in place until the user exports or shares them. Manual Google Translate Text from a manually selected screen area can be opened in a movable and resizable Google Translate web window. This is a separately launched feature that requires an internet connection; automatic bubble translation works locally regardless. OCR calibration and appearance - Image size, contrast, brightness, threshold, grayscale, auto-invert, and adaptive processing can be adjusted. - Calibration can be saved to the current JSON database. - Customizable bubble and text size, text and background color, AI pulsation colors, and speaker icon size. - Floating widget is collapsible; can be hidden and redisplayed by shaking the device.
