NY Exam is the app parents and private tutors use to run practice exams — and to understand what came back. Your student sits the test in the separate NY Exam Student app. You stay here: you choose the exam, you set the conditions, and the moment they finish you get the report. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Keep a roster of students, each with their own tests, scores and history • Assign an exam in two taps, and see what it costs before you spend anything • Read a report on every sitting: each question, what your student chose, what the answer was, and why it was wrong • Watch a student's scores move over time, and see which topics keep costing them marks • Give a student a nine-character passcode — no email address and no password for a child to remember • Record parental consent against each student before anything is assigned • Archive students who have finished, without losing a single report THE EXAMS • SHSAT — New York City's specialized high schools • TACHS and HSPT — Catholic high school entrance • New York State tests, grades 3 through 8 Practice material written by us, in the format and at the length of the real thing. HOW IT IS PAID FOR Credits, not a subscription. You buy a pack, and credits never expire. One exam costs five credits and covers your first student; adding the same exam to another student costs one more. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. BUILT FOR THE JOB • Face ID to open the app, and to sign in without typing your password • A notification when a student finishes a test • Works on iPhone and iPad, with a wide layout made for a tutor's roster • Everything lives on your account, not on one device — sign in anywhere and it is all there ABOUT YOUR STUDENTS' DATA We collect a student's first name, their answers and their scores. Nothing else. No advertising, no analytics trackers, no profiling. A student cannot read their own score report — reports go to the adult, and that is enforced by our database, not merely by which screen we show.
