Notch Tone is a personal sound workspace for exploring and documenting tinnitus. Start by matching the pitch and loudness of the sound you perceive. Then find your minimum masking level and build a soundscape around your measurements. Every sound is generated directly on your device—there are no prerecorded audio loops. At the center of Notch Tone is notched noise: broadband noise with a precisely excluded frequency range around your selected tinnitus tone. Choose a notch width of ½, 1, or 1½ octaves and adjust the sound until it feels comfortable. CREATE YOUR SOUND Explore six noise colors shaped with real audio filters. Combine up to three generators and fine-tune each layer independently. Available sounds include: • Notched broadband noise • Band-pass filtered noise • White, pink, brown, blue, violet, and grey noise • Amplitude-modulated brown noise • Synthesized fan, rain, and rustling leaves Save up to eight personal presets for different moments of the day. Use the sleep timer to let your soundscape fade out gradually instead of stopping abruptly. MEASURE AT YOUR OWN PACE Notch Tone includes three guided self-matching procedures: • Perceived tinnitus pitch • Perceived loudness • Minimum masking level Pitch matching is a personal comparison tool—not a hearing test or audiometric examination. FOLLOW THE PATTERNS Use the diary to record perceived intensity, sleep, stress, sound exposure, mood, and other daily factors. As your history grows, Notch Tone calculates correlations and always shows the actual sample size behind them. Complete the original 12-question check-in to observe changes over time. It is designed specifically for Notch Tone and does not reproduce copyrighted THI or TFI questionnaires. Sudden tinnitus, tinnitus after an injury, pulsatile sounds, or tinnitus accompanied by sudden hearing changes should be assessed by a medical professional.
