NoizyBeast has no keyboard. It is a synthesizer you shape with 34 knobs and nothing else. Raise the FEEDBACK knob and the instrument amplifies its own signal until it speaks. A string resonates. That sound runs through the filters inside the loop and returns to the string. Past a certain point the loop sustains itself, and from there every knob visibly changes the result. THE ENGINE Frequency is the pitch of the resonating string. It is a free knob rather than a keyboard, so you slide between notes at will. Body controls the size of the chamber around the string — from tight and metallic to cavernous. Two filters sit inside the loop, so their effect compounds on every pass. CRUSHER A crusher that destroys bit depth and sample rate. Put it on the output, or inside the loop, where the damage is re-amplified on every pass until it mutates into metallic oscillation. GATE Chop the drone with a tempo-locked gate, from one pulse every four bars down to 1/64. A metal resonator and a Drag control that makes the wheel sound like it is seizing up. NOIZY / VOICE Make it scream with the auto-wah, roar with octave-up saturation. Growl and Throat give it a voice — sub-audio growl, vocal formants and a touch of pitch instability. DECAY Six decay behaviours: string sustain, a drone that blooms and wilts, gated tails, plucked cycles, cyclic pitch dive-bombs, and slow swells cut dead. SPACE Reverb and tape echo sit on the output, not in the loop. However far you push them, the state of the string survives — you can always come back. PERFORMANCE Three macro knobs, each able to drive several parameters at once. MIDI learn on every knob: right-click the knob you want, move a control on your hardware, done. Keyboard shortcuts across the panel let you play it from the Mac keyboard. Tap tempo and a DJ-style filter are built in. RECORDING Press REC and you are recording. Export to WAV, AIFF or FLAC. No DAW required — perform and record in this app alone. PRESETS 108 original presets across six flavours: Horror, Ambient, Industrial, Punk, Cinema and Ritual.
