Noise Monitor is a fully offline environmental noise meter. All microphone and motion data are processed live on your device — nothing is ever recorded, saved, or uploaded. KEY FEATURES • Real-time dB display: an approximate dB(A) reading with color-coded levels (Comfortable / Elevated / Noisy / Dangerous) for an at-a-glance read. • LAeq / Lmax: the equivalent continuous sound level and peak level for the session, not just an instant reading. • Threshold alerts: set your own alert level, get notified (with optional haptics) when noise goes over it, and see total time spent over the limit. • 60-second trend: a live chart of the last minute of noise, with your threshold marked for quick comparison. • Noise direction scan: slowly rotate your phone in place and the app estimates roughly which direction the noise is coming from. • Sound type detection: recognizes common sounds (speech, vehicle, music, animal, construction, alarm, and more) entirely on your device — nothing leaves your phone. • History: saves timestamp, LAeq, Lmax, time over threshold, sound type, direction result, and your notes for each session — no audio is ever stored. • Manual calibration: if you have a reference sound level meter, enter a calibration offset in Settings to better match your environment. WHO IT'S FOR • Anyone curious whether their home or workplace is noisier than it should be (neighbors, construction, traffic). • Anyone who wants a rough sense of which direction noise is coming from. • Anyone monitoring headphone volume or ambient noise over time. • Anyone who wants a simple record to reference when talking to neighbors or building management. PRIVACY • Microphone and motion data are processed live, on-device, only. Raw audio and raw sensor data are never saved or uploaded. • History only stores session summaries (numbers, category, direction, your notes) — never audio recordings. • The app works fully offline. No account and no network connection required. IMPORTANT Decibel readings, sound classification, and direction estimates are consumer-grade approximations for general awareness only. They are not suitable for occupational safety assessments, engineering acceptance testing, medical decisions, or legal evidence, and do not replace a calibrated professional sound level meter or professional advice.
