Store description excerpt

Point Night Atlas at any starry photograph and watch it name the sky — then stamp the picture with how you made it. Night Atlas plate-solves your astrophotography entirely on your iPhone and iPad — no account, no uploads, no subscription. Import a RAW, TIFF or JPEG nightscape and the app works out the exact patch of sky you captured, then labels it beautifully: constellations with elegant hairline figures, named stars, planets, the Moon, and deep-sky treasures like the Lagoon Nebula and the Andromeda Galaxy. SOLVE • Lost-in-space astrometry matches the star patterns in your photo against a built-in catalog of 25,000+ stars — typically in about a second • Works with images from any camera: 42-megapixel mirrorless RAW files, or iPhone night-mode shots • EXIF-aware: reads your lens and capture time to place the planets and the Moon exactly where they were that night • Knows what it doesn't know: stitched panoramas and heavily warped composites are declined rather than mislabeled • Crisp typography with soft halos — never boxes — and constellation lines that stop at your foreground instead of crossing mountains and trees • A density slider from minimal to complete; toggle lines, names, stars, planets and deep-sky objects • Erase any label you don't want • Export at full resolution to Photos, or share it anywhere STAMP The shot-data card photographers actually publish, generated from your own file. • Focal length, aperture, shutter, ISO, camera, lens, location and date — read straight from the EXIF • Add what the solver found: the constellations in frame, the field of view, where the plate is centred • Five card shapes: Single Image, Tracked Blend, Composite, Stacked Blend, and Stacked Blend — Tracked. Every blend gets separate Foreground and Sky columns, because a blend is not one exposure and the card shouldn't pretend it is • Four card styles, hand-drawn icons, and three backdrops • Optional background blur — Off, Behind card, Subtle, or Strong — for posts where the card is the subject. Off is the default: the photograph is never touched unless you ask • Drag it, pinch it, place it anywhere on the picture • The photograph is never blurred or altered — the card flattens in only when you save or share EDIT THE CARD Web exports, messaging apps and social downloads strip EXIF. Night Atlas lets you put it back. • Every row is editable: change the text, swap the icon, reorder, add or delete • Rebuild from the photo's EXIF at any time • Stamping needs no solve — any photograph can be stamped, and any photograph can be solved. Do either, or both. LIBRARY Everything you solve or stamp is kept together, with the sky it matched and the settings it was shot at, ready to re-export or re-edit. UPSCALE Messaged and downloaded photos are often too small for precise star positions. Upscale enlarges the pixel grid with a high-quality interpolator so a small copy has room to solve — stars stay exactly where they are, and nothing is invented. NIGHT CAMERA A lon
