Reading about how to handle those doesn't prepare you for having one. NextTalk lets you have it first — out loud, with an AI counterpart who answers back like a person instead of following a script. HOW IT WORKS 1. Describe the situation in a sentence or two. NextTalk works out what kind of conversation it is and who is in the room. 2. Shape your counterpart. Give them a name, a role and a temperament — talented and defensive, warm and evasive, whatever you're actually walking into. Then set how hard they push back. 3. Talk. It's a live voice conversation, not a chat box. They interrupt, they deflect, they hold their ground. Nothing here reaches a real person, so you can get it wrong as many times as you need to. 4. Get it back. A score, coaching notes, and the whole thing written out. WHAT TO REHEARSE Give difficult feedback. Say no. Set a boundary. Address poor performance. Handle conflict. Deliver bad news. Or describe your own situation and practise exactly that one. You can also choose who's in the room: one-on-one, or two people against you. WHAT YOU FIND OUT ABOUT YOURSELF NextTalk measures the things you can't hear while you're in the middle of it: • Your speaking pace • How much of the airtime you took • How many questions you actually asked • Filler words and hedging phrases • How long you left before replying • Where you spoke over them Premium adds voice analysis — how you sounded, not only what you said — and full replays with the transcript next to the coaching notes. NO PERFECT SCRIPT NextTalk won't hand you lines to memorise. There isn't one right way to tell someone they're underperforming, and a script read back at a real person sounds like a script. The notes tell you what your version did — where you softened it until it disappeared, where you talked past their answer, where one question would have changed the whole thing — and leave the words to you.
