Store description excerpt
Play games. Discover how your mind works. Join real brain-health research. Neureka is a citizen-science app from the Gillan Lab at Trinity College Dublin. We believe everyone should have the chance to take part in science, so we are bringing research out of the lab and into your phone. Participants can solve cognitive puzzles, play games, answer surveys and join research challenges designed to help scientists understand cognition, mood and brain health. Hundreds of millions of people worldwide are affected by mental health conditions or dementia. By contributing to Neureka, you can help researchers explore how differences in thinking, behaviour and daily life relate to these conditions, and support the search for better ways to understand and protect brain health. Neureka is a research app, not a medical device. It does not provide diagnoses, treatment recommendations or individual predictions of health risk. What can you do in Neureka? Neureka contains a growing collection of games, surveys and research challenges created by scientists and research teams. Different activities explore areas such as memory, attention, decision-making, confidence, mood, sleep, lifestyle and healthy ageing. Some activities take only a few minutes. Others invite you to return at certain times over several days or weeks so researchers can study how experiences change over time. You can choose the studies that interest you and participate at your own pace. Along the way, you can test yourself, learn about the science behind each activity and see how your contribution fits into a wider research question. Every completed game, survey or challenge adds another useful piece to the bigger picture. Optional Health Connect research data Some research challenges invite you to optionally contribute daily activity and sleep summaries from Health Connect. Depending on what your device records and what you choose to allow, this may include: • steps and step cadence • distance and movement pace • floors climbed and elevation gained • wheelchair pushes • exercise type and duration • sleep sessions and sleep stages These summaries help researchers study how real-world physical activity and sleep relate to cognition, mood and brain health. Health Connect access is optional. You can decline or revoke it at any time and continue using Neureka. This information is not used for advertising, diagnosis, treatment, insurance decisions or personalised health predictions. Your contribution matters Neureka is powered by everyday people who are curious about the brain and want to support research. Individual contributions are combined with those of participants around the world, helping scientists investigate questions that would be difficult to answer in a traditional laboratory alone. By taking part, you may contribute to research on how cognitive abilities differ between people, how mood and behaviour change over time, and how factors such as physical activity and sleep relate
