Store description excerpt
Naive Bayes — the classic probability classifier, made visual. Give it labelled points, and it learns a bell curve for each class on each feature, then classifies any new point by asking which class makes the data most likely. See the Gaussian decision regions, the 1σ and 2σ probability ellipses, and the posterior probabilities behind every call. Fully offline. "Naive" Bayes makes one bold simplification — it treats each feature as if it were independent of the others. That sounds too crude to work, yet it classifies remarkably well, trains in a single pass with no iteration, and stays calm with little data. This app shows you exactly how: the maths, the bell curves, the decision map and the probabilities, all in your hand. No sign-up. No internet needed. No data collected. Just clear, instant statistics. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Data — type labelled training rows (x, y, class) into a clean editor, then set a query point (x, y) to classify. Everything recomputes as you type. • Regions — see the plane shaded by the most probable class, each class drawn with its 1σ and 2σ Gaussian ellipses, the training points (a dark ring marks a misclassified one) and your query diamond on the boundary. • Concept — learn what Naive Bayes is, why it is called "naive", and see the offline, beautifully typeset formulas — Bayes' rule and the Gaussian likelihood — with no overlap. • Simulate — generate labelled class clouds, then raise the overlap with + / - steppered sliders and watch the decision regions tangle and the posteriors near the border slide toward 50/50. • Examples — load ready-made datasets (two clusters, different spreads, noisy overlap and more) with one tap. WHAT YOU GET • A trained Gaussian Naive Bayes model from your labelled points. • The posterior probability of each class for any query point. • Per-class, per-feature means and variances (the bell curves). • A shaded decision map with 1σ/2σ ellipses and misclassified points flagged. WHY YOU'LL LIKE IT • See the probabilities — not just a label, but how sure the model is and why. • Trains instantly — one pass, no iteration, works with little data. • Fully offline — every bell curve, region and formula works with no connection. • Hands-on — type exact data, or build class clouds with sliders and + / - steppers. • Clean "Emerald & Gold" design, easy on the eyes. • Privacy-friendly — your data stays on your device. Whether you are a student meeting Bayes' rule for the first time, a developer prototyping a quick classifier, or anyone curious how a spam filter decides, Naive Bayes turns the maths into a map you can read in seconds. Download it, label a few points, and watch the decision regions appear.
