Every tray in your loft is a generation, and every generation ends with a choice. Mulberry is an idle game about sericulture — the old craft of raising silkworms — in a lacquered vermilion workshop. Rows of mulberry trees grow leaf; trays of worms eat it hungrily as they climb through four instars, spin, and go cocoon-ready. Then the reel decision starts: cocoon quality rises to a prime window, then falls as the moths inside get ready to fly. Reel early for a fraction. Reel prime for ×1.5. Wait too long and the moths emerge — no silk at all, but a clutch of eggs. Here's the twist no other idle game makes you feel: eggs are the ONLY way to seed a new cohort, and reeling a cocoon kills the moth. To keep the loft alive you must deliberately sacrifice whole generations of silk. Which tray do you reel, and which do you let fly? • Up to 10 rearing trays, each running a visible lifecycle: eggs → instar I–IV → spinning → cocoon-ready • One live leaf budget feeds every tray — outgrow your orchard and cohorts stall, visibly hungry • The reel timing meter: early fraction, prime window ×1.5, or emergence for eggs • Breed strains for speed, brood size, and thread luster; widen the wheel's prime window; raise the granary • New Season: strike the loft for Heirloom Strains — each +10% silk and leaf, forever • The loft keeps growing while you're away (up to 8 h) — but nothing is ever reeled without your hand • No account, no internet, nothing collected — the whole loft lives on your phone The trays are rustling.
