Store description excerpt
The City Alert! Movement is an independent civic initiative that helps citizens report and bring visibility to problems in public spaces — potholes, broken lighting, accumulated garbage, insecurity, impassable sidewalks, or damaged infrastructure. ⚠️ WARNING — UNOFFICIAL APPLICATION The City Alert! Movement is an independent, non-profit civic association (NIF 518930580). It is NOT a governmental entity and is not affiliated with, associated with, or authorized by any municipal council, parish council, municipal assembly, or public administration body. This application is NOT an official complaints channel, and an incident registered here does not constitute a formal complaint filed with any local authority. 📍 REPORT IN SECONDS Choose the type, mark the location on the map (the app uses GPS automatically), and send. There are 14 categories — from Streets and Roads to Public Lighting, Sanitation, Cleaning, Green Spaces, and much more. 📶 WORKS WITHOUT INTERNET No network? No problem. The incident is saved on your mobile phone and sent automatically as soon as there is a connection. You never miss a complaint, even in areas without coverage. 🤝 WHAT WE DO WITH THE INCIDENTS The Movement doesn't replace anyone. Our team gathers the received incidents and prepares documents that are sent to the City Council and the Municipal Assembly, informing them that there are complaints from citizens about a specific situation on public roads and how many there are. If the problem persists, the Movement can publicly disclose, to the media and/or on social networks, the dates on which these entities were informed and the time elapsed without a response. We also support citizens who wish to submit their own complaints to the competent authorities, helping them prepare the texts. 💡 YOUR VOICE MATTERS In the Suggestions Box you can propose ideas to improve public spaces. All reports are read by the City Alert Movement team and periodically compiled into a document that we send to the relevant authorities. 📊 FOLLOW THE NUMBERS See statistics on incidents by district and municipality and the leaderboard of the most active citizens in your community. 🔒 PRIVACY You can submit incidents anonymously. Your personal data is never shared with third parties for commercial purposes. 🌐 ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION SOURCES The administrative nomenclature used in the application (districts and municipalities) follows the Official Administrative Charter of Portugal (CAOP), published by the Directorate-General for Territory: https://www.dgterritorio.gov.pt Official information on municipalities and their competences can be consulted on the Local Government Portal of the Directorate-General for Local Authorities: https://www.portalautarquico.dgal.gov.pt You can report from any municipality in Portugal. Monitoring by local authorities is currently underway in the Lisbon municipality; in the remaining municipalities, the incident is recorded and helps to demonstrate that the
