Store description excerpt

Tidy up a fragmented disk and pack it back together. Two taps are the whole game. You still read moves ahead. ■ How to play Everything is a tap. Tap an occupied cell to pick that block up into the buffer. Tap an empty cell to drop the next block out of the buffer. Line up the blocks of one file (A1, A2, A3...) side by side in order and that file is done. Make every file contiguous and empty the buffer to clear the level. ■ You don't choose what comes out The buffer is first in, first out. Blocks leave in the order you picked them up. So the real decision is what to pick up, and in what order. "Move this out of the way first, so that space opens up later" - reading a few moves ahead comes out of just those two taps. ■ 1,000 levels, 100 chapters Ten levels to a chapter. Every tenth level is a chapter boss: the largest disk, the most scattered. Early boards start nearly sorted, so the rules land on their own during chapter 1. As you go, the disk grows, the buffer gets shallower, and empty cells get scarcer. Further in, each chapter takes on its own character: - chapters with almost nowhere to put anything down - shallow buffers that force you to plan ahead - long files that make contiguous space hard to hold - swarms of tiny files The same disk size can feel completely different. ■ Expand mode Clear a disk and a bigger one takes its place, two cells larger every time. It does not get harder as you go; a single run just gets longer. Blocks from the same file as the front of the buffer are outlined, so you never hunt for where a block belongs. A scattered disk quietly falling into place - that feel, for as long as you want it. ■ And one more: Sort mode One huge file fills the whole disk. There are no empty cells and no buffer. The only move you have is to swap two cells. The number on a block is where it belongs, so you never have to work out where it is headed. What gets counted is not moves but seek distance: how little you make the head travel. A packed run grows from the front - for when you want to keep your hands busy and your head quiet. ■ Daily mode: one disk a day A new board arrives every day, built from the date, so everyone is solving the same one. The rules and the taps are the same as Standard. Tidy it day after day and your streak grows. It rolls over at midnight UTC. Retry today's disk as often as you like; your best move count is the one that sticks. ■ There is no game over No timer, no move limit, no way to fail. In the modes where you pick blocks up, the disk always has an empty cell, so what you picked up can always go somewhere. You will never be stuck with nowhere to put something, and you can always rearrange your way out. Every one of the 1,000 levels has been checked to be solvable before shipping. Think as long as you like, and restart whenever you want. ■ Fits in a gap in the day Early levels take a minute or two. One hand, portrait, no scrolling. A chapter while you wait for a train, a few levels before bed. Pro
