Every place has a sound. MileMix finds it, plays it, and tells you why every song belongs there. One tap builds a playlist for wherever you are standing: bands that formed in that town, artists born there, songs written about it. Not an algorithm guessing what you might like. The actual music that came out of the actual place. MileMix plays through Apple Music and needs an Apple Music subscription to play full songs. Without one you still get every playlist, every pick and every explanation, but nothing will play. DISCOVER THE SOUND HERE Tap once. MileMix works out which town you are in and builds a short playlist from it. Every song carries the reason it is there, in plain language. Born in Macon. Formed in Athens. Recorded here in 1951. Tap any song for the whole story: the full explanation, a short artist biography, and where the fact came from. EXPLORE A PLACE You do not have to go somewhere to hear it. Search any city, landmark or address, or drop a pin on the map, and MileMix builds that place's playlist the same way. Good for planning a trip, settling an argument, or just wondering what a town sounds like. DRIVE MODE Start driving and the road becomes the playlist. No destination needed. The trail draws itself behind you and the music changes as you cross into each new town. Cross a line and the current song always finishes first, then the music belongs to the new place. Quiet stretch of interstate? MileMix listens wider rather than going silent, and says so. Heading somewhere specific? Set a destination and see the whole trip broken into places before you leave. MileMix is music, not navigation. Directions stay in your maps app, and MileMix keeps playing while it runs on top. When you arrive, the drive becomes something you keep: a real Apple Music playlist of the songs that actually played, grouped by where each one came from, with the route you drove drawn as the cover art. WHY EVERY SONG IS THERE This is the part other music apps do not do. Every pick shows how strong its connection is. Strong means born here, formed here, or written about here. Moderate means a nearby or metro tie. Exploratory means a looser cultural thread. When MileMix widens its search past your exact spot, it says so rather than pretending. The facts come from MusicBrainz, Wikidata and Wikipedia, open databases maintained by people who care about getting them right. MileMix never invents a connection. If it cannot find a real one, it tells you that instead. WHAT YOU NEED An iPhone, and Apple Music. MileMix uses Apple Music to find the songs, not only to play them, so access to it is required for the app to find anything at all outside its eight hand-curated cities. Playing full songs needs an active Apple Music subscription. Location is used to work out which town you are in. It is never used to navigate you, and never to track where you have been.
