Have your paths crossed before? You may have shared a place with a friend, a partner, or someone you just met — long before you knew each other. met finds out. HOW IT WORKS Your photos already carry two labels: when they were taken, and where. met reads those two labels, and nothing else, to build a private picture of where you've been. Compare it with someone who agrees to compare with you, and you'll see where your pasts overlapped. FOUR KINDS OF CROSSING Same moment — the same small area, within two hours of each other. Same day — the same area on the same day, hours apart. Maybe you arrived as they left. Same week — the same neighbourhood, a few days apart. Same period — the same city, the same month. AND THE ONES YOU MISSED met also shows near misses: the afternoon you were in the same place four hours apart. Often that's the better story. PRIVACY IS THE PRODUCT, NOT A SETTING met does not open, display or upload your photos. It reads their date and location labels, then reduces them on your device before anything is compared: an exact coordinate becomes an area of roughly 150 metres, and a time becomes a one-hour slot. Your exact coordinates are never uploaded. You don't have to take our word for it. "What do I share?" in Settings asks our server what it holds for you and prints the rows back, unedited. met never asks for Location Services and never tracks where you are now. Everything it knows comes from photos you already took. YOUR OWN HISTORY, FIRST Even alone, met is worth opening: the places you returned to most, how much ground you covered month by month, the span of years your library reaches back. All of it worked out on your device. PEOPLE YOU KNOW Add someone by username. There is no directory to browse and no name search — you can only be added by someone you gave your username to. A report takes two agreements from each side: first you both accept the connection, then you both approve the report. It shows only the places you were both in. Anywhere just one of you has been is never shown to the other. CROSSED PATHS — OPTIONAL, AND 18+ If you want, you can meet people whose paths already crossed yours. It is a separate profile you have to create deliberately; your normal account never becomes discoverable on its own, and you can skip this part forever without losing anything else. Before a mutual like, someone sees your first name, your age, one photo, a 32-character line, how many areas you crossed in and roughly how close in time you were. Never where. Never when. The places open up only when you have both chosen each other — for both of you, at the same moment. A one-sided like unlocks nothing and is never announced. WHAT MET DOESN'T DO No live location and no map of people nearby. No random or anonymous chat. No messages from strangers — a conversation only opens after you have both chosen each other. No public ratings, no leaderboards. Report and block are on every profile and every conversation. EVERYTHING IS
