Your birth didn't go to plan? You're not alone. Mendara is a safe, guided space to help you process your birth experience. Small groups, expert facilitators, and daily journalling to help you make sense of what happened. Developed with the Birth Trauma Association and backed by Nesta, the UK's innovation agency for social good. WHAT YOU GET WITH MENDARA Facilitated group sessions led by trained, trauma-informed facilitators with lived experience of a difficult birth A small group of women who understand, matched to your experience Completely anonymous - you choose a nickname, and your personal details stay hidden. Daily guided journalling exercises to help you process between sessions Text-based sessions that fit around your schedule HOW SESSIONS WORK Choose a session time that works for you - morning, lunchtime, or evening. Each session is 60 minutes and takes place in a private group chat within the app. You join using your chosen nickname. No real names, no personal details visible to anyone. Share as much or as little as you are comfortable with, at your own pace. When the session ends, the chat closes. Every session is led by a trained, trauma-informed facilitator with lived experience of a difficult birth. They guide the conversation and make sure every voice is heard. HOW TO START Sign up and complete an onboarding questionnaire. Our facilitators review your experience and match you with the right group. When your spot is ready, you receive a personal invitation and join your first session whenever you are ready.
