Store description excerpt
Melby is a calorie tracker that also tells you what to cook. Photograph your plate: it names the dishes, estimates the portions, writes them into your journal. Open a recipe: every ingredient carries its own calories. The two agree, because the numbers in our food list were calculated from those recipes in the first place. No account. No ads. Your entries stay on your phone. Recipes Forty home dishes, each with a photo, the ingredients in grams, the timing and the steps. Every ingredient line carries its own number: Sunflower oil 60 g · 530 kcal That is how you see what actually makes a dish heavy. Cooked it? One tap logs the portion you ate. Twelve recipes are free. Food your tracker doesn't know Most calorie apps were built for a Western plate. Search them for menemen, lahmacun or içli köfte and you get a handful of numbers a stranger typed in years ago. Melby ships with 831 foods and every one of them is sourced: home dishes calculated from their ingredients, packaged products taken from USDA reference data. Soups, kebabs, stuffed vegetables, olive-oil dishes, breakfast spreads — alongside the pizza and pancakes you also eat. From a photo One picture can hold several dishes. Melby names each of them, tells you how confident it is, and lets you fix the portion with a slider. When a dish is already in our list the nutrition is not a guess; it comes straight from the list. Portions in your own words You don't have to think in grams. One bowl of soup, two slices of bread, half a serving of rice. Add your own foods and your own units when something is missing. Say you eat vegetarian, vegan or lactose-free and the dishes that don't fit sink in the results. The day, and the goal The calorie ring and macro bars show where the day stands at a glance; go over and you still see where you are against your maintenance level. Your targets come from your age, height, weight, activity level and the weekly pace you pick, and they recalculate on every weigh-in. The weight chart measures your real pace and tells you when you will arrive at it. Scan barcodes. Go back and fill in the days you missed. Water tracking comes with a daily goal, a calendar and the hours you drank. Staying with it Three quests a day and 28 badges across seven collections. The quests change with the obstacle you chose during setup. There is a leaderboard if you want one, off by default, and it ranks behavior rather than weight or calories: did you log, did you finish your quests, did you drink your water. Reports Turn any period into a PDF: days logged, calorie spread, macros, weight trend. Send it to your dietitian or keep it to yourself. Food, water and weigh-in entries export as CSV too. Meal reminders are built from your own meal times. The water reminder only speaks up when the day is moving on and you are behind; if you are ahead, it stays quiet.
