Maskotak helps you understand what's really in your cat or dog's food. Pet food labels are hard to read, and vague terms like "meat and animal derivatives" hide what's actually in the bag. Maskotak reads the ingredients straight off the packet and rates the food from Poor to Excellent, so you can see at a glance whether it is built on real named meat or on cheap fillers and additives. HOW IT WORKS Point your camera at the ingredients list on any pet food and Maskotak reads it and rates it. You can also scan the barcode, enter it by hand, or search by name. WHAT MASKOTAK LOOKS FOR Higher-quality foods are rewarded for: - Named meat or fish as the main ingredient, like chicken or salmon - A high stated meat percentage - Named organ meats and natural preservatives Lower-quality foods are marked down for: - Vague animal terms like "meat and animal derivatives" - Grain and cereal fillers - Added sugar and caramel - Artificial colours and preservatives Each food gets a clear score out of 10, a quality band from Poor to Excellent, and plain-English notes explaining what raised or lowered the rating. MADE FOR YOUR PET Tell Maskotak whether you keep a cat or a dog, and what you want to avoid (grain, artificial colours, artificial preservatives, or added sugar), and it will warn you at the top of any food that does not suit. FREE, WITH NO CATCH Maskotak is completely free. There is no paywall and no subscription. It is supported by ads, and a one-time Remove Ads purchase is available if you would prefer to use it without them. A NOTE ON THE DATA Product information comes from Open Pet Food Facts, a free, community-run database. It is smaller than the human food equivalent, so some products may not be found by barcode yet. When that happens you can still get a rating by photographing the ingredients label, which works on any packet. Ratings are informational and based on publicly available guidance about pet food ingredients. They are not veterinary advice. Always check the packet itself and speak to your vet about the right diet for your pet.
