Store description excerpt

Mamochari Tokyo helps you choose a bike route across Tokyo based on more than just the shortest distance — comparing accident data, ride-friendly roads, and parking options for each candidate route. Tap two points on the map, and the app compares up to three candidate routes side by side: distance and time, proximity to reported bicycle-related accident points, and parking near your destination. Every score comes with a link back to its open-data source. Coverage today spans six eastern wards of Tokyo — Koto, Sumida, Chuo, Taito, Arakawa, and Katsushika — for routes and accident data, with public bicycle parking covered in four of them. More of Tokyo will be added as open data becomes available. • Accident trends drawn from the National Police Agency's open traffic-accident data • Public bicycle parking per ward, with hours and fees where published • Route comparison that factors in dedicated cycling space and OpenStreetMap cycling data • Data coverage shown ward-by-ward, so you always know what's included This app is not a safety-guaranteed navigator — it shows candidate routes and the evidence behind them so you can make an informed choice. Accident locations are reference information only and do not guarantee route safety. This app was developed as an entry for the "Governor's Cup" Open Data Hackathon 2026 (都知事杯オープンデータ・ハッカソン2026), hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
