When long text is hard to keep reading, continue with your ears. mallo is an iPhone document-listening app that turns PDFs, public web links, and pasted text into Korean or English synthetic speech. It extracts text from text-based and scanned PDFs, and long documents can start playing section by section as audio becomes ready. Tables and images may be omitted from audio, and the app shows a notice when this applies. Listening tools • Follow the sentence currently being read • Choose 0.75× to 2× speed or skip 15 seconds • Move by sentence and adjust text size, line spacing, and light or dark theme • Keep listening with the screen off and use Lock Screen or headphone controls • Remember each document’s playback position on the device Korean and English Let mallo detect the language or choose Korean or English pronunciation rules. mallo reads the extracted source text; it does not translate or summarize it. Trial and subscription Before signing in or paying, you can listen to the first minute of your first document. Eligible new subscribers can receive a 7-day free trial with 60 minutes of new document-audio generation, including usage from the claimed guest document. Each paid billing period provides 300 new generation minutes. If a document is started with time remaining, that final document is completed even if it exceeds the remaining allowance. Replaying generated documents does not use generation time. The App Store shows the monthly price before confirmation. The subscription renews automatically and can be managed or canceled in Apple Account settings. Data processing Source documents are sent to mallo’s Cloudflare-based service. Portions of extracted text are sent to the OpenAI API to generate speech. Original documents, extracted text, and generated audio are stored without automatic expiration for the private library and replay. Removing a document or deleting an account blocks app and API access, but does not immediately delete the stored data. See the Privacy Policy for details.
