Store description excerpt

Where Science Becomes Play. Join a little bunny on its adventure and discover a unique educational game that combines engaging gameplay with scientific insights from visual perception research. While most educational games rely on conventional graphics and shapes, MagicBridge is based on scientifically established Gabor patterns. These mathematically generated visual stimuli were developed to precisely represent fundamental visual features such as orientation, contrast, and spatial frequency. Because of these properties, Gabor patterns have been used for decades in visual perception research. In addition, they are employed in scientific studies investigating the training of visual functions and, among other applications, in research on amblyopia (lazy eye). MagicBridge integrates these scientifically established visual stimuli into a beautifully crafted fantasy world. Rather than presenting abstract visual stimuli in isolation, players help a little bunny safely cross a river, collect stars, open treasure chests, and unlock numerous rewards. The visual tasks are based on scientifically established Gabor patterns and are displayed as consistently as possible across different tablets using an integrated screen calibration. An adaptive difficulty system continuously adjusts the tasks to each player's individual progress, providing a motivating and long-lasting gameplay experience. Highlights: • Family-friendly educational gameplay • Beautifully crafted fantasy world • Collect stars and unlock numerous rewards • Gameplay based on scientifically established Gabor patterns • Adaptive difficulty • Screen calibration for different tablet sizes • Multilingual user interface • No advertising • No registration required Scientific Background: MagicBridge is based on findings from visual perception research. The Gabor patterns used in the game have been employed for decades in neuroscience, psychophysics, and vision research and are among the most widely used visual stimuli for investigating fundamental visual functions. Disclaimer: MagicBridge is an educational game. It is not a medical device, diagnostic software, or a substitute for professional eye examinations or medical treatment. For the best experience, we recommend playing on an iPad or a larger-screen iPhone.
