Store description excerpt
A menstrual cycle has four phases, not two — and most period apps act as if it had one. Lunara is a cycle diary written for people who want to understand what is actually happening inside their body across the menstrual, follicular, ovulatory, and luteal phases, day by day, without a server, an account, or a recommendation engine pretending to know more than it does. What it logs Lunara is a daily log, not a coach. Each day you can record: - Bleeding: five intensities, from spotting through heavy, plus a "period start" flag that resets the cycle count. - Basal body temperature (BBT) in degrees Celsius, with a 30-day trend graph. BBT rises by roughly 0.2–0.5 °C after ovulation under progesterone, so the chart is shaped to make that shift legible rather than decorative. - Cervical mucus: dry, creamy, or egg-white pattern — useful for confirming the fertile window alongside BBT. - Thirty-plus body signals: cramps, mittelschmerz (the brief mid-cycle ovulatory pain), breast tenderness, bloating, brain fog, libido shifts, skin changes, sleep quality, digestion, and so on. - Ten mood states, including the limited-mention "mindful" mood for moments when that is genuinely what you feel — not as branding. - A free-text note for each day, kept on this device only. How predictions work After roughly two to three logged cycles, Lunara fits a simple model to your data: a running mean cycle length, a running mean period length, and a luteal-phase estimate of fourteen days unless your BBT shift suggests otherwise. From those it projects the next period start, the six-day fertile window (five days before ovulation plus the day itself), and the expected ovulation day. These are statistical estimates from your own data, nothing more. Lunara will tell you, in plain language, when the model has not yet seen enough cycles to be useful, and it will mark predicted days visually distinct from logged days on the calendar so you never confuse the two. What it does not do This is not a medical device. Not for diagnosis. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical concerns. Lunara does not screen for pregnancy, endometriosis, PCOS, thyroid imbalance, or any clinical condition. It is a journal that makes your own data visible to you. If a symptom worsens, lasts longer than usual, or feels different from your baseline, the right next step is a clinician, not a phone screen. The app also does not push fertility products, recommend supplements, or run an in-app shop. There is no premium tier. Privacy No upload, no cloud, no sync. Your entries live in a local SQLite file inside the app's sandboxed storage. Lunara holds no internet permission at all — the app cannot reach a network even if asked. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash-reporting service. The only permissions requested are POST_NOTIFICATIONS (so reminders work) and RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED plus the exact-alarm permissions (so reminders survive a restart). A discreet mode swaps
