When the signal fades, or your phone leaves the room, the Mac locks on its own. You choose how far is too far and how long it waits. ■ Fast when you are close, reachable when you are not On the same Wi-Fi the lock happens in well under a second, and your Mac confirms it. Away from home the request travels through your own iCloud account instead, and takes a few seconds. ■ Nothing to set up Sign in to the same iCloud account on both devices and they find each other. There is no code to type and nothing to scan. ■ Your data stays yours No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no third-party servers. The only thing stored anywhere is your Mac's name and its pairing key, and that lives in your private iCloud database where only your devices can read it. Requires macOS 26.5, iOS 18, and watchOS 11.
