Store description excerpt

Lisboa Romana is a long-term project created by Lisbon Municipality and the website and the app are two of the most accessible ways for users everywhere to reach detailed information about the Roman presence in Lisbon territory. The app is based on a map that flags hundreds of Ancient Rome traces that users can either visit or know more about them by browsing the hundreds of photos provided, several videos and 3D animations and short and long descriptions about each and every spot located on the map. This app uses GPS location allowing users to navigate between flags and also provides them notifications warning about the proximity of a determined Roman vestiges. The map has several filters allowing users to choose a precise era (i.e. only vestiges between 1st Century b.C and 2nd Century b.C.); the type of vestige (visitable, museum, non-visitable, with virtual visit); kind of vestige (Theatre; Road; Manor House, etc); groups of vestiges (Society; Economy; Politics; Buildings and structures, etc); and by municipality (there are 18 municipalities enrolled in this projecto leaded by Lisbon Municipality). Users can also choose to follow our suggested routes and/or build their own if they want to. And we think this is the best way for visitors, tourists, locals and all kinds of users to dive into the past and know more about the presence of this ancient civilization in the actual Lisbon territory.
