Store description excerpt
Most apps ask you to recognise Korean. LingoType asks you to write it. Every word arrives as a row of empty syllable cells. You type it on your own Korean keyboard, and each cell fills up jamo by jamo as you go — ㅎ, then 해, then 행 — so you feel how a syllable is actually assembled instead of memorising a finished picture of it. HOW A ROUND WORKS • Pick a topic: food, travel, weather, family, work and more • A word appears with its icon, and its keystroke hint underneath • Type it with the standard 2-set Korean keyboard • Tap the speaker to hear it in a native voice • Eight words to a challenge, so a round takes a couple of minutes WHAT IS INSIDE • Over 1,000 Korean words across 127 challenges and 12 topics • A hand-picked icon for every single word — no word without a picture • Native pronunciation for each word, spoken by your device's Korean voice • Optional romanization, for when you are not yet reading Hangul fluently • Difficulty marked on each challenge: easy, medium or hard YOUR PROGRESS • Keystrokes per minute and accuracy measured on every round • XP for each challenge you finish • A personal best kept per challenge, so you can watch a word get faster • Suggestions for what to practise next, based on what you have already done WORKS WITH THE PHONE IN AIRPLANE MODE Words, icons, fonts and your entire history live inside the app. • No account, no sign-up, no email address • No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no in-app purchases • Nothing you do is uploaded anywhere — your history stays on your device ABOUT THE KEYBOARD LingoType uses the Korean keyboard already built into iOS rather than shipping one of its own, so what you practise here is exactly what you will type in a real message. Add it once under Settings › General › Keyboard › Keyboards, and the app will tell you on screen if it is ever left on the wrong language. Vietnamese is included as a second learning language with a smaller starter set of words, typed with Telex.
