Store description excerpt

Lingo Latvian Words is a trainer for memorizing Latvian words with illustrated flashcards and a spaced repetition method. Who this app is for: • those who are starting to learn Latvian from scratch using Laipa textbooks and are preparing for the A2 exam (permanent residence); • those who are moving towards level B1 (citizenship exam) and want to systematically expand their vocabulary; • those who already know the language but do not use it every day and want to maintain their vocabulary; • those who like structured decks and flexible learning settings. What’s inside: • 1500+ free illustrated flashcards for level A1; • flashcards for level A2 (~950 words): part of the words are available for free, the full set is in the paid version; • flashcards for level B1 (another ~2300 words; words from A1/A2 are not duplicated); • a frequency dictionary of Latvian with 3300+ most common words, split into 1st, 2nd and 3rd+ thousand (covers the core vocabulary of everyday communication); • main dictionaries based on Laipa textbooks, split by levels and lessons; • example sentences for each word and illustrations to engage visual memory; • built-in Latvian → Russian / English / German dictionary. How learning works: • spaced repetition: the better you remember a word, the less often it appears; forgotten words are shown more frequently; • separate decks for LV→RU and RU→LV; • “guide mode”: the RU→LV direction is enabled after the first pass of the words in LV→RU (this behavior can be changed in the deck settings); • settings for the daily limit of new words and the maximum number of review words; • two answer modes: simple (“remember / don’t remember”) and classic with four buttons (“again / hard / good / easy”); • “Training” mode to review forgotten words for a selected period. Games: • “Word Game” and crosswords help diversify repetition and reinforce words; • you can choose the source of words for the games: already learned words in the current deck, all words in the deck, or the entire available database. Monetization and trial period: • a large basic part of the app remains free: full A1 level, part of A2, games and dictionaries; • before purchasing the full version, a free 3-day trial is available, during which you can test all features; • one fair one-time payment to unlock all A2, B1 and frequency dictionary cards — no subscriptions or hidden payments; • the price is lower than a single lesson with a tutor; • your purchase helps to further develop the app and add new words and features. Open beta and terms of use: The app is in open beta testing. The main functionality is already available, but some issues and bugs are possible; they will be fixed as they are discovered and as the developer’s technical capabilities allow. The app and paid content are provided “as is”; actual performance may depend on your device model, Android version and individual user settings. Updates, improvements and feature expansion are carried out subject to available re
