Store description excerpt
Linga turns a list of words into flashcards and makes sure they stay learned. A LIST BECOMES CARDS Photograph the page your tutor handed you and the app reads the lines and builds the cards. Pasting text works too: it splits each line into term and meaning. Nothing has to be typed in by hand. REVIEWS THAT KNOW WHEN A word learned today fades within days, while a familiar one holds for weeks. Linga tracks a due date for every word and gathers the ripe ones on the Today screen. Fifteen minutes a day beats two hours on Sunday. NINE WAYS TO LEARN ONE WORD Cards, practice from multiple choice to writing, a graded test, timed pair matching, listening, collocations, a word inside a sentence, your own sentence with feedback, and a live dialogue. Meeting a word from different angles holds better than repeating one drill many times. CONVERSATION, NOT CRAMMING Your partner speaks the language of the set, answers what you actually wrote and suggests how to put it better. A word spoken in your own sentence settles differently from a word memorised in a list. ANY LANGUAGE PAIR English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Russian — in any combination, all in one account. A Russian speaker learning Spanish and an English speaker learning German can sit side by side. NO ACCOUNT, NO CONNECTION NEEDED Cards, tests and reviews run on the device and offline. An account only matters if you want the same sets on another phone. Photo parsing and dialogue need the internet — that is the only part that does. HONEST ABOUT DATA No advertising. No analytics. No tracking across apps. Photos are never stored. The account and everything in it is deleted with one button in settings. Reminders are scheduled by the app itself — only for days when something is due, and only if you have not practised yet.
