Store description excerpt
A native Mac chord-chart app for practicing musicians. Lead sheets, ChordPro, MusicXML, and a backing-track player — your whole songbook on the Mac, with a source-list sidebar, a sortable table, and the keyboard shortcuts you'd expect. $5.99 once. No subscription. Ever. Hey — Leganote is the app I wished existed. I'm zhi, a solo dev. I built it in evenings and weekends because I was tired of paying yearly fees for music tools I just want to own — and tired of "lifetime" apps that quietly turned into yearly plans. So I made my own. Pay $5.99 once and it's yours. No subscription, no trial, no ads, no upsell screens. — Built for the Mac A real Mac app, not a port. System menu bar with File / Song / Playback / Practice menus and keyboard shortcuts: ⌘P play/pause, ⌘L loop, ⌘E edit, ⌘N new song, ⌘F find. A traditional source-list sidebar, a sortable table (Title / Key / Style / BPM), and multi-window so you can keep two charts open at once. — What it does Chord charts and lead sheets that look the way they should. Handwritten chord symbols, section markers, repeats and 1./2. endings. Click a bar, type a chord. Drag to reorder sections. A backing-track player so you can practice without booking a band. Drums, bass, and SoundFont piano + guitar all playing along. Live transpose at the next bar boundary. Tempo control without changing pitch. — Practice tools A-B loop a tricky section. Tempo Ramp gradually steps the BPM up each time the loop comes around. Metronome with quarter, 8th, triplet, 16th, and shuffle subdivisions. Guitar, piano, bass, and ukulele fingering diagrams — pick a different voicing per chord. — Open formats + sync Import and export ChordPro and MusicXML — your charts stay yours, in formats other apps can read. Your library lives in iCloud Drive, so the charts you write on the Mac show up in the Leganote app on your iPhone and iPad (and the other way around). — What's not here (yet) PDF chart reading and Apple Pencil annotation are on the iPhone/iPad app, not this one. The Mac focuses on writing, organizing, and playing. Made by one person who plays. If something's off, email me — there's a real human at the other end.
