Store description excerpt
Find out what your car really does. Launchly is a GPS acceleration timer for your car. It measures 0-60 mph, 0-100 km/h and the quarter mile from a standing start, to within about a tenth of a second. Pick a target, floor it, and the time is on screen before you have come to a stop. MEASURE A SPEED OR A DISTANCE Run to a speed: 0-50, 0-100, 0-150 and 0-200 km/h, or 0-30, 0-60, 0-90 and 0-120 mph if your phone is set to imperial. 0-60 mph is a finish line of its own rather than a converted 0-100, so your acceleration time is comparable with what the motoring press publishes. Or run a distance: 100, 200 and 400 m, or the 1/8 and the 1/4 mile. Every distance run reports the elapsed time and the trap speed over the line, the two numbers a drag strip time slip gives you. Whichever you pick, the run records its splits at every line it crossed on the way, in both unit systems. Switch between km/h and mph and your history and your records come with you. ACCURATE ON AN ORDINARY PHONE Most phones deliver GPS just once per second. Across a four second launch that is five data points, nowhere near enough on its own. Launchly reads the accelerometer at 100 times a second and fuses both signals live, then refits the whole curve against every GPS reading once the run is over. No external performance box to buy or charge. The launch is detected by the accelerometer, so your timing does not have to be perfect, and the start and finish moments are interpolated between samples rather than rounded to the nearest reading. On Android you can also plug in a USB-C GNSS receiver and measure at 10 Hz. SEE WHAT THE CAR DID Every run is kept with its full speed curve, its G-force trace and peak G, its split times and the conditions you set it in. Not just the number it ended on. There is a live speedometer while you drive and a gauge you can switch to a face you like. Export the raw GPS log and the fused speed curve as JSON if you want to dig further, or share a rendered card of your run. YOUR GARAGE Add every car, bike or van you drive, each with a photo and a licence plate. A Dutch plate pulls make, model, year, engine and colour from the open RDW registry automatically. Every run is filed against the vehicle that set it, and a personal best is kept per car per target. YOUR FRIENDS Add friends by invite code and every run you choose to share lands on one leaderboard, ranked per person and per car, with the top three on a podium. Metric and imperial runs sit on the same board and are compared on the same finish line, so a friend in Rotterdam and a friend in Austin are actually racing each other. Nothing is shared until you share it, and nothing is public. Only friends you have accepted can see your times. ON YOUR PHONE, IN YOUR LANGUAGE English, Dutch, German and Portuguese, following your phone by default. Units follow your device region. Dark and light theme. A chime and a buzz the moment a run finishes, both switchable. Your runs, cars and charts stay
