The official app of the Concentration Camp Memorial Neuengamme. Neuengamme concentration camp was the largest concentration camp in north-west Germany. It was established to the south-east of Hamburg in 1938 and existed until 1945. Over 100,000 prisoners from throughout Europe were imprisoned in the main camp and its 86 satellite camps. At least 42,900 people died in Neuengamme and its satellite camps, or during the evacuations of the camps at the end of the war. Either by using a map or by entering codes, you can learn about the history of this site and make a self-guided tour through the grounds. Content: - Information about 113 different places on the site of the former concentration camp. - Information about history and archaeological remains, historic photos, quotations from witnesses - Four recommendations for theme-based self-guided tours - Basic information about six exhibitions Once downloaded, no network connection needed.
