Kythera puts you in command of Classical Greek warfare. Build your polis's army from Spartan morai and Theban shield-walls to Cretan archers and Thessalian cavalry, then pit it against a rival force on five historically accurate terrains. Every battle unfolds turn by turn — from opening missile skirmishes through the brutal othismos push to the rout and pursuit — driven by an engine faithful to the tactics and realities of the 5th and 4th centuries BC. Craft each side's order of battle down to the contingent: choose troop type, strength, quality, and armor. Deploy your forces to Left Wing, Center, or Right Wing, set formation depth, and select a grand tactic — Oblique Strike, Envelop, Refuse Flank, or Frontal Press. Pick your ground (Open Plain, Narrow Pass, Coastal Shore, and more) and the season's conditions, then watch the Balance of Forces shift before the first spear is leveled. The battle unfolds as a live replay complete with a Momentum Curve, phased field reports, and running casualty tallies split by killed, wounded, and routed. When the dust settles, Kythera grades the outcome — Decisive, Marginal, Bloody Stalemate, or Pyrrhic — and explains exactly why: which flank crumbled, when morale broke, and what the pursuit cost the losers. Export a polished battle-report card and save every engagement to your Chronicle for later review or replay.
