Kuzushi AAC is a communication aid for people who can type and read English but sometimes find it difficult to, or simply prefer not to, speak out loud. It is built for live conversation where timing matters. A lot of spoken conversation runs on quick feedback: short reactions, filler words, the small sounds that hold a turn. People who rely mainly on speech sometimes listen poorly when those cues don't arrive when they expect. So this app is built around one idea: stepping in at the right moment can make the difference between being heard and being ignored. TAP A TILE AND IT SPEAKS Sixteen tiles, each one a phrase. Tap one and it speaks immediately, in a voice already installed on your phone. Press and hold and the board fills with fifteen other ways to say the same thing — flat, warm, sarcastic, delighted, unconvinced. Slide to the one you meant and let go. TYPE WITHOUT PAUSING Type a line and press return. It speaks, the box clears, and you can start the next one while the first is still playing. Lines queue and play in order. HOLD THE FLOOR WHILE YOU WRITE Openers like "Wait", "Question" and "Um..." claim a turn before you have typed a word. An optional auto-filler can hesitate out loud while you type, so a silence doesn't read as a finished turn. FOR THE PERSON OPPOSITE YOU Display mode shows what you are saying in large print, and turns it upside down with a tap so somebody across a table can read it. No handing your phone over. CUSTOMIZABLE Every tile, every alternative and every opener can be rewritten, moved or replaced. Build boards of your own, and export them to a file. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT No account or sign-up required. By default, Kuzushi AAC runs entirely on your device, makes no network requests of its own, and collects zero information. Free — no ads, no subscription, no in-app purchases. Kuzushi AAC isn't designed as a general-purpose AAC, does not give medical advice, and it isn't a substitute for appropriate accommodations. It is a personal project, built by one person who sometimes loses her voice, and it is the app she uses to talk.
