Krishna Collection is a comprehensive repository of transcendental literature, contrived for the convenient perusal and continued study of the books, lectures, conversations and epistolary correspondence of Srila Prabhupada upon iPhone and iPad. Within this collection are preserved Bhagavad-gita As It Is, Srimad-Bhagavatam, Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, Krishna Book, together with numerous other literary works treating of Krishna, devotional service and the transcendental conclusions of Krishna consciousness. The application has been deliberately divested of needless mundane embellishment and superfluous apparatus. Its arrangement has been made subordinate to the principal business of attentive reading, so that the reader may approach the literature without the incessant interruptions and distractions commonly attendant upon modern applications. Among its facilities are: • Horizontal progression by means of the natural swiping of successive pages • Vertical perusal of more extensive passages, commentaries and purports • The complete library preserved for use without dependence upon an Internet connexion • Search throughout the assembled literary collection • Favourites for subsequent recollection and reference • Automatic remembrance of the precise place at which one’s previous reading was suspended • Careful typographical disposition of Sanskrit, transliteration, synonyms, translations and purports according to their respective character • Proper accommodation of the reading arrangement to both iPhone and iPad • No account, registration, subscription or sign-in requisite for admission to the library The literary contents are retained directly upon the device. The reader is therefore not obliged to depend upon the uncertain availability of an external connexion before approaching the books; the collection remains ever at hand for reading, reference, recollection and deliberate study. Particular attention has been bestowed upon the disposition of the texts themselves. Sanskrit and transliterated passages are presented distinctly; synonyms, translations and purports retain their appropriate arrangement; lengthy expositions may be traversed without disturbing the natural succession of the reading. The method of use is purposely uncomplicated. One may enter a book, proceed through its pages by a simple movement of the hand, and upon returning at another time be restored to the place where the former perusal had concluded. Krishna Collection has thus been conceived not as an accumulation of miscellaneous digital conveniences, but as a portable treasury of transcendental literature: a means whereby the writings, discourses, conversations and correspondence concerning Krishna may remain continually accessible for attentive perusal, thoughtful reference and serious cultivation of transcendental knowledge.
